AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow

The AGH University of Science and Technology (the AGH UST) is a modern university that actively participates in fostering a knowledge-based society and creating innovative technologies. Bialystok University of Technology

Bialystok University of Technology was established in 1949. The University continues the rich tradition of higher education in Bialystok. Czestochowa University of Technology

Czestochowa University of Technology (CUT) is the largest state university in the region funded in the 40's last century. Gdansk University of Technology

Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT) is the largest technical university in the Pomeranian Region and one of  the oldest technical universities in Poland. The impressive 77 hectare  University campus is a harmonic combination of 100-years old buildings with XXI century ultramodern premises.  

At 9  faculties the University offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral studies conducted in both full time and part time systems in various areas of science and technology. The academic offer comprises 38 fields of undergraduate studies and 27 fields of graduate studies, including 3  interdepartmental courses and 2 inter-academic course currently offered. Kazimierz Pułaski Technical University of Radom

Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom is a public university in Radom. It was the biggest university of the former Radom Voivodeship. The university was established in 1950 as a School of Engineering of General Technical Organization. For more than 50 years its name was often changed. The University of Technology and Humanities in Radom comprises 8 faculties, 4 of which are of technical profile: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Transport and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Materials Science, Technology and Design, and Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, whereas Faculty of Art, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Philology and Pedagogics, and Faculty of Health Sciences and Physical Culture represent the Humanities. Kielce University of Technology

There are about 5500 students enrolled in 21 undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The University has the right to confer  the degrees of doctor (PhD) and doctor of science (doctor habilitowany) in four disciplines of science: civil engineering and transport, automation, electronic and electrical engineering , environmental engineering, mining and energy  and mechanical engineering.

Kielce University of Technology is an academic higher education institution offering first, second and third cycle programmes (Doctoral school). Currently, the University employs about 450 teaching staff.

The University is situated on a large 22-hectare campus in the city centre. Koszalin University of Technology

Koszalin University of Technology is the only public technical university in the Middle Pomerania, and the only technical university in the West Pomeranian. At present, it educates over nine thousand students in twenty-eight modern fields of study such as technical, economics, humanities and arts majors. The students are awarded the academic degrees of: Bachelor, Engineer, Master's Degree and Master of Science as well as Doctor.

Lodz University of Technology

Lublin University of Technology

Lublin University of Technology (LUT) is a state institution and the largest technical university in the region. It was established on 13th May 1953 on the initiative of Lublin's community of engineers and technicians. Initially, it was named the Evening Engineering School.

The university's history involved a dynamic development of research staff and student body on the one hand, and venue-related problems on the other. Initially, the university enjoyed the hospitality of other schools, institutions and industrial plants. It was not until 1959 when the decision concerning a new location of the university, at Nadbystrzycka Street, was made.

On 28th April 1965, as a result of intense efforts, the Evening Engineering School was transformed into Higher Engineering School. It offered full-time, evening and extra-mural courses. In 1973, the School obtained the right to provide education in the form of unified master's studies. 1st August 1977 is a milestone in the history of the university. It is the date when Lublin University of Technology was established.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was the first in the university's structure. As early as the academic year 1953/1954, over 100 students began education at the university. In time, it became evident that a further development of the university was necessary. In accordance with the intention of the founders, who meant the institution to become a fully-fledged technical university, qualified engineering personnel in the Lublin region received education in the organization. In the academic year 1963/1964, electrotechnology emerged as a separate course. In 1964, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the specialization in industrial electrical engineering, was established. At present it constitutes the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Next, in 1965, the Faculty of Civil Engineering was founded. In 1986, it was renamed the Faculty of Civil and Sanitary Engineering. In 2009, the name was changed into the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The fourth faculty, the Faculty of Management and Fundamentals of Technology, was established in 1988. In 2007, it was divided into two separate faculties - the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Fundamentals of Technology. In 2004, the Faculty of Environmental Engineering was founded.

Opole University of Technology

The Opole University of Technology (OUTech) located in the beautiful city of Opole is an internationally oriented high-tech university, providing education mostly in technical sciences but also in the fields of logistics, economics, management, tourism, sport, and physiotherapy. Poznan University of Technology

The beginnings of higher technical education in Poznan date back to 1919, when the Supreme People's Council established the State Higher School of Mechanical Engineering. Regular classes, initially with a small number of students, began on September 1 that year. Unfortunately, before the first graduation ceremony took place, the school status was downgraded by removing the adjective "higher" out of its name. The School immediately began the efforts to restore its previous rank.

In 1921, in " Wiadomości Techniczne " [ ‘Technical News’ ] appeared the "Chronicle of the Establishment of  the University of Technology in Poznan" including justification for creating such an educational institution, the proposals of the performance plan concerning the necessary land, the building, the cost of its construction, equipment and operation of the university. The efforts  brought  success,   and operating since 1919, the State Higher School of Mechanical Engineering was renamed the State Higher School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and in 1930 it was extended by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.In this form the school operated until the outbreak of World War II, and 716 graduates received a degree from it.

In 1937, the Ministry formally approved the creation of the Poznań University of Technology, but World War II actually shattered those plans. After the war, the operation of School was resumed already in 1945, when it was transformed into the School of Engineering. At the same time, however, the efforts to establish a fully-fledged technical university in Poznan were continued. To do this, the Organising Committee of Poznan University of Technology was constituted, and a suitable memorial and a plan of action were formulated. Unfortunately, the lack of independent academic staff, the condition of the facilities and the lack of laboratory facilities allowed only for the appointment of the School of Engineering - higher vocational school, the non-academic educational institution with faculties: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. In this form the School continued until the mid-50s of the twentieth century.

Rzeszow University of Technology

Rzeszow University of Technology’s history dates from 1951, when the Engineering School was opened following the initiative of the employees of Rzeszow PZL factory, organised into the Association of Polish Engineers and Technicians. Mechanical engineers were educated in evening classes to support operations at PZL, a communications equipment maker.

The newly-created polytechnic underwent various developmental phases; in 1952 it was subordinate to the Engineering Evening School in Cracow, and in 1955 its overseer was the Cracow University of Technology. In September of that year the first class of engineers, 24 in all, graduated from the school.

In 1960, full-time studies were commenced, with local staff assuming responsibility from its overseer for instruction, administration and operations throughout the decade. During this time, the school blossomed into the Higher Engineering School of Technology and Mechanical Engineering and expanded its range of subjects with the addition of Faculties of Chemical Technology, Civil and Environmental, and Electrical Engineering. In 1972 a significant event in the development of the University took place, as the Department of Aeronautics was founded and the instruction of personnel for the aviation industry began in earnest. As a result, in 1976 Aviation Training Centre was established with the aim of providing future pilots with the practical training.

Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice

Silesian University of Technology is the oldest technical university in Upper Silesia and one of the largest in the country. Established in 1945 as a scientific and didactic base for the most industrialized district in Poland. The university, by constantly improving processes and organization, is a friendly and open place for work and development of the academic community.

University of Bielsko-Biala

The University of Bielsko-Biala (Akademia Techniczno-Humanistyczna w Bielsku-Bialej) was founded in October 2001 as an independent governmental academic institution. Previously, since 1969, it had been a branch of the Technical University of Lodz (Politechnika Lódzka). The machine-design, electrical and textile industries are traditional for the region so the main education areas have been long established. With the change in the economy, there have also developed other fields of study including management, humanities, environmental and computer sciences.

West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin

The West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin is a university linking the long-term tradition of the University of Agriculture in Szczecin and Szczecin University of Technology. 

On 5 July 2007 the senates of the Agricultural Academy in Szczecin and Szczecin University of Technology passed a unanimous resolution on joining two universities. In January 2008 the Conventions of Student Governments as well as Doctoral Student Parliaments of both Universities adopted a similar position on it. A multistage and longterm legislative process was completed by the Sejm Act on the West Pomeranian University of Technology establishment of 5 September 2008 and by the signature of the President of the Republic of Poland of 30 September 2008.
