Under Polish regulation, employers are responsible for ensuring a healthy working atmosphere for their workers. The corporation therefore has the task to introduce new employment policy to reduce the possibility of transmission of coronavirus among its workers. The most influential recommendations for health and safety prepared by the Central Institute for Labor Security (Centralny Instytut Ochrony Pracy) and the Chief Lab Inspectorate (Główny Inspektorat Pracy) for Polish industries are:

Limit at the same time the number of staff present:

  • On the job: by flexible working hours.
  • Insanity equipment, breakrooms, vestibules: for example, by planning breaks at various times.

Employers are highly urged to make provisions for homework whenever appropriate.

Keep a healthy distance from employees:

  • Rearrange the workroom and adjust workforce plans and retain a minimum distance of at least 1,5 metres between employee desks, e.g. to enforce alternating work hours or remote work choices.

Cannot prevent immediate communication with other staff or customers:

  • Limit the number (two or three) of workers who come in close touch by establishing set teams.
  • To separate staff from consumers, instal security displays.
  • Reduce the amount of time spent on personal client encounters to a maximum of 15 minutes.
  • Ensure the workers use personal security services (masks, façades, hats, etc.) at work.
  • Provide hand hygiene and floor disinfectants for the workers.

Employers can also turn to remote networking and reduce the number of business trips or face-to-face meetings with non-company employees.

The following protective steps must be introduced and implemented to reduce the possibility of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in the workplace:

  • Disinfecting high-touch places such as door handles, soap dispensers, washbasins, kitchens, chairs, keyboards, etc. daily.
  • To provide staff with cleaning facilities and detailed information on correct washing and sanitation of the hands. soap and running water.
  • In order to ensure that everyday detergent is used for cleaning work areas, including floors, desks, benches, cupboards.

In order to reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in the workplace, it is necessary to implement and comply with the following safety measures:

  • To regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, soap dispensers, washbasins, toilets, desks, keyboards, etc.
  • To provide employees with hand-washing facilities (soap and running water) and clear information on how to wash and sanitize hands properly.
  • Ensure that the workspaces (including floors, tables, chairs, cupboards) are cleaned daily using detergents.
  • Ensure that during use, workers clean their kitchen utensils and that they do not share their tableware.
  • To delete from break quarters, dining rooms, lobbies or receiving zones journals, magazines and information brochures.
  • To ensure daily washing and disinfection of business vehicles as well as equipping them with hand mats, towels and baskets.

Employers are also advised to add disinfection mats at the exits to ensure that their employees have sufficient ventilation.

It is recommended to companies that safety precautions be developed if an individual experiences symptoms of COVID-19. These may provide instructions for shielding the majority of the workforce, for identifying the members of the staff who may have been in close communication with the personnel and for reporting to the required sanitary and disease station of the possible COVID-19 event.
