Under the EU4Belarus: Solidarity with the People of Belarus” programme, the European Union invites Belarusian students to apply for EU4Belarus - SALT (Support for Advanced Learning and Training) scholarships. What are the eligibility requirements?

Belarusians who are already studying in Polish, Czech, Lithuanian, or Latvian universities, or who will commence their studies in the academic years 2021/22 or 2022/23, and who meet one of the following criteria, are eligible for the scholarship:

  • They were forced to flee Belarus as a result of political repression in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election and protests.
  • They are experiencing financial troubles or have limited resources.
  • They have a disability.

The scholarship recipients will receive EUR 450 each month (paid from September to June) for the duration of their studies. They will also receive a one-time reimbursement for their travel expenditures.

The deadline for applications is September 6, 2021.

The EU4Belarus – SALT scholarship programme is delivered in collaboration with the governments of Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic and is funded by the European Union as part of the “EU4Belarus: Solidarity with the People of Belarus” programme, which was implemented in response to the political crisis in Belarus. It intends to help Belarusians in four main areas: civil society and independent media, youth, small and medium-sized businesses, and health.
