1. Jaywalking
Crossing the street at any time or walking through a red signal when there is no traffic is entirely allowed in various nations (such as the United Kingdom). In Poland, on the other hand, jaywalking is a criminal offence punishable by a fine of a few hundred zlotys. Apart from that, crossing streets other than at a pedestrian crossing is extremely perilous — Poland is notorious for its severe vehicle traffic.
2. Drinking in public
Alcohol is not permitted to be consumed in public in Poland, except in specially authorised areas such as restaurants or beer gardens. Unless you're ready to risk a fine, alcohol is not permitted on city streets and parks. Barbecuing is prohibited in Polish parks and other public spaces, according to the same rules.
3. Cash payments
In Poland, cashless transactions are very common, and you might be shocked to learn that even the smallest shops or bars can accept credit cards. If you prefer to pay in cash, avoid using large amounts (above 50 zlotys) or you will be requested for change frequently — Polish cashiers like coins and cards!

4. No-smiling policy
Obviously, there is no such thing as a "no-smiling policy" in Poland, but many visitors are perplexed when they see Polish citizens going down the street looking serious or even melancholy. What is the source of their lack of enthusiasm? To be honest, there are none; it is a cultural difference. Poles are simply not accustomed to talking with strangers or smiling at strangers for no apparent reason. However, this does not preclude you from approaching them! It's worth noting that if you ever get lost in a strange place, Poles will gladly assist you. Don't let their poker faces fool you!
5. Language practice
Finally, never be afraid to practise your Polish in front of native speakers. Even if you only manage to learn three simple words, they will always appreciate your efforts. It's much better if you chance to be studying Polish. You will undoubtedly be treated as a hero. In Poland, don't be afraid to show off your language talents!
