According to Poland's Supreme Audit Office (NIK), Polish colleges are growing increasingly popular with international students.

Poland still has one of the lowest (6.4%) shareholdings of students from abroad in the OECD countries, but lately, non-Polish students have gradually increased. In the academic year 2019/20, about 80,000 students attended Polish universities, which represents an increase of over 27% over 2016/17, according to the Polish Supreme Audit Agency (NIK).

In Poland, the share of students from outside in the OCDE countries is still one of the lowest (6.4%), but recent events have seen non-Polish students progressively grow. According to Polish Supreme Audit Agency NIK), almost 80,000 students attended Polish universities in the academic year 2019/20, a 27% increase compared to 2016/17.

The increasing popularity of international graduate programs, particularly those offered by the Polish National Academic Exchange Agency, can be partly due to the increase in academic exchange possibilities. The Agency launched in 2017, promotes the internationalization procedure of Polish academic institutions through the coordination of various scholarships and student exchange programs. The internationalization process, while challenging, plays a vital role in the development of universities and increases the overall quality of tertiary education, as stated by NIK. Therefore, NIK called on international students in Poland to provide further support and university chances.
