Poland's unemployment rate in December 2021 was the second lowest in the European Union, according to the most recent Eurostat data.

The average EU unemployment rate fell to 6.4% in December, down from 6.5 percent in November 2021 and 7.5% in December 2020. According to Eurostat, there will be approximately 13.6 million unemployed people in the European Union by the end of 2021. When it comes to youth unemployment, the number of unemployed EU citizens under the age of 25 fell to over 2.7 million, a 385,000 decrease from the same period in 2020.

According to Eurostat, Poland's unemployment rate was 2.9 percent in December 2021 (down from 3.4 percent the previous year) and ranked second in the European Union. Unemployment among people under the age of 25 had also decreased - the country's youth unemployment rate had dropped from 14.6 to 11.9 percent in a year, significantly lower than the EU average (14.9 percent) at the end of last year.

The Czech Republic, which topped the table with a jobless rate of 2.1%, had the lowest number of unemployed people in the EU. On the other end of the spectrum, Spain and Greece had the highest number of unemployed people among all member countries, with unemployment rates of 13.7% and 12.7%, respectively.
