The Bachelor of Arts in Aviation Management gives you the mind-set, skills and experience you need to understand how the dynamically developing global aviation market operates. The overall aim of this programme is to teach you how to lead, manage, direct people and resources in the field of aviation. You will learn about many aspects of aviation management such as logistics, aviation regulations, air navigation and aircraft operation. The programme also covers basic business and leadership skills such as negotiation, communication, decision making, problem solving and critical thinking – all providing a competitive edge in the global job market. As part of the ongoing development projects, students will be offered the prestigious IATA certificates including: Ground Operations Management, IATA Cargo, IATA Arline Marketing, IATA Airline Business Models, IATA Airline Customer Service, IATA Airline Finance and IATA Aviation Security Awareness.
UITM is the only university in Europe with a license for ARCPort software which is used for simulations of airport operations. The software is used by the Star Alliance group on a daily basis and our students have the opportunity to receive a certification confirming their ability to use the ARCPort software, which is granted by Transoft Solutions. The software is used by more than 80 international airports around the world and guarantees a lucrative job.
Teaching And Listening
The programme focuses on a practical approach to teaching, reflected in the practice-oriented coursework. The BA in Aviation Management builds theoretical knowledge from the management field that is expanded by the practical elements of the course where students are expected to deal with a number of case studies as well as conducting environmental and financial analysis. The course represents a great mixture of theoretical fundamentals including practical classes, certified training, simulation games and international aviation projects. Assessment methods include essays, reports, presentations, case studies, as well as time-constrained in-class tests and exams. Classes are held on weekdays in small cohorts to ensure that you receive the full support to get the best out of the programme and increases the effectiveness of the educational process. Our lecturers include international experts and practitioners whose daily work is related directly to the aviation market.
