Certificate of English proficiency
The language of instruction for the vast majority of courses run at universities in Poland is Polish, however, several faculties offer a selection of programs or courses taught in foreign languages, mainly in English. Candidate must prove his/her English language skills (at least at B2 level) by submitting an accepted by the University in Poland document confirming English language knowledge or (in case it is specified in admission procedure for the particular field of study) taking part in exam checking his/her language skills at the University.
What is the English Language International Certificate?
All candidates to Polish Universities need to hold a proper certificate to prove their knowledge and skills in the English language - it has to be one of the certificates from the list below.
What if my previous education was conducted in English?
If your previous education was conducted fully in English, we will not require any specific B2 English certificate, but we will require a confirmation from your school/university that the medium of instruction of all classes and exams was 100% English. Note that it has to be a school/university that you successfully graduated from. The proof can be in a form of a separate letter or certificate, sometimes you can find it in the back of your main document or in the supplement.
If your high school was for example in Chinese and then you completed just one year at a university in the English language - it is not enough, because you did not graduate from that university (you just did one year). But if you graduated from Bachelor studies and they were in English, then we would accept just the Medium of Instruction statement from that university.
What if my previous education was NOT conducted in English?
If your previous education was in a different language or you studied in English for some time but you did not graduate from an English-medium school/university then it is obligatory for you to have one of the International certificates listed below.
