ECTS credits
In addition to the grading scale, HEIs engage in the European Credit Transfer Scheme (ECTS), which grants a fixed number of credits to each subject regardless of the grade earned. A student must earn 60 credits to successfully complete a year (30 per semester).
In the process of integration between Europe's higher education systems, the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is the norm accepted by all universities in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). After 2007, all Polish higher education institutions have been allowed to use the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation Scheme (ECTS) for credit transfer and accumulation within their degree programs.
International students' cycles of study at Polish HEIs will be recognized using ECTS credits.
