Collegium Civitas is a private university located in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It was established under the auspices of five Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1997 and has relied extensively upon the teaching and research traditions of these renowned institutions.

Collegium Civitas is a modern non-state university located in the Palace of Culture and Science, in the heart of Warsaw – the most dynamic capital city of Central and Eastern Europe. The experience and commitment of our founders and faculty members have earned us a reputation as the best place to study international, social, and political science in English.

Prestigious and internationally recognized lecturers
Hardly any university in Europe may boast the fact that as many as four its lecturers were Members of the European Parliament, as it is the case in Collegium Civitas. Furthermore, the former President of Poland – Bronisław Komorowski – gives lectures in our University on topics related to key events in Poland, the region and the world from both a contemporary and historical perspective.
Among our instructors there are also former Ambassadors and Charge d’affaires to such countries as the US, Russia, Japan, India, Pakistan, Canada, Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Switzerland, Angola, Ireland, Moldova, Armenia, Belgium, and Israel, the former President of the Polish National Television Council, former Director of the national Academy of Public Administration, former Director of the Nonmilitary Security Department of the National Security Bureau, and two members of the Council of the Institute of National Remembrance. Since the very beginning Collegium Civitas has been a bilingual University. Collegium Civitas is honoured to welcome students from over 60 countries. We have around 100 agreements within the Erasmus+ student exchange program, as well as many bilateral contracts with other Univeristies around the world, including the United States.

Our history goes back to 1997 when Collegium Civitas was established with the initiative of a group of well-known scientists of the Polish Academy of Science, the most prestigious Polish educational and institution. Professors from 5 institutes of PAN –Political Studies, Philosophy and Sociology, of History, History of Art, and Slavic Studies contributed their experience and knowledge to create Collegium Civitas – a modern institution which would offer the world-class standards of higher education to Polish and international students. We are the only university in Poland that can pride itself on such close relations with so many reputable institutes.

Collegium Civitas was the first non-public university in Poland open to new and rewarding inventions in higher education: interdisciplinary approaches, closer lecturer-student relations, study abroad programs, internships, and the encouragement and supervision of individual student research projects. Due to mutual efforts of our founders, lecturers and students Collegium Civitas has grown into a true 21st century university.
Collegium Civitas was a first non-public university to welcome on board foreign students in 1997. Since then our exquisite program of studies in English has attracted hundreds of international students from all over the globe.
