The university is not only an important research center in the field of economics and management sciences but also one of the largest economic schools in the country and plays an important role in educating economists, in scientific research, and working for the economy. It is also an active partner in international scientific and didactic contacts.
The university's research and teaching activities are conducted at three faculties and at the branch in Jelenia Góra.
The educational offer includes 11 majors in Polish and 4 programs in English, a Doctoral School and doctoral studies for foreigners. The Children's Economic University, the University of the Third Age, and the Stock Exchange School are also very popular.
The University of Economics in Wrocław has a rich and long tradition of cooperation with business practice. University graduates can be found in almost all production and commercial companies, banks, chambers, and tax offices. They often hold managerial positions there. They also often successfully run their own business. They easily adapt to changing working conditions. Many graduates, also from other universities, take advantage of the opportunity to complete their education at postgraduate studies at our university.
History
The Wroclaw University of Economics and Business is a long-established center of scientific and educational activities in the region. Its precursor, The Higher School of Trade, was established on the initiative of the Wroclaw Association for the Advance of Economic and Trade Sciences, the original founder and proprietor, in accordance with the Act of 1937 on privately owned schools.
Education
The exchange of academic staff and students is carried out under the Erasmus and other programs. The WUEB has 200 Erasmus bilateral agreements and about 60 general cooperation agreements with foreign partners. The courses organized by the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, which are divided into semesters, are run in one or two-level systems and can be attended as full-time day courses, part-time weekend courses, and in the form of evening classes. The University is authorized to run an Executive MBA Program for graduates, which is available in a Polish or English language version. The Program is organized in cooperation with universities from Belgium, France, Ireland, Germany, and Great Britain.

Career Services of the Wroclaw University of Economics were established in May 2006. Our main goal is to support the students and graduates of the University in the successful transition from the period of study, through the stage of seeking employment, to finding their way of efficient functioning in the modern labor market. Our team consists of experienced specialists in the field of career counseling, trainers, and coaches, who can help students in learning about their potential and career planning.

Housing services
The Wroclaw University of Economics provides accommodation for all students in the University's dormitories. Rooms for exchange students are reserved in two dormitories: "Slezak" and "Przegubowiec". Both dormitories are situated on campus, near to each other, and offer unified conditions. Both of them are recently renewed buildings with double and triple rooms, shared bathrooms, kitchen, and launderette on each floor. All rooms have free access to the Internet. Rooms are equipped with new furniture, washbasins, bed linen, and electric kettles. Students are asked to provide plates and dishes on their own.
Library services
The Main Library of the Wroclaw University of Economics offers employees, students and all interested persons full access to the library collections, electronic resources and wireless Internet as well as complex scientific and business information.
In the Open Access Area, registered readers can browse collections on the spot or borrow them by self-service lending machines or in the Lending Room.
ICT services
At the campus, there operates the University’s Computer Centre. Faculty teaching premises are equipped with modern computer bases available in computer rooms. A modern operating system technology “cloud” and according to the concept of “zero client”.
Campus life
Our students and academics are provided with a modern, well-equipped base of didactic, research, and recreational facilities in 20 educational and administration buildings (in Wrocław and Jelenia Góra), with a total of 40 lecture halls and 100 spacious and modern auditorium and workshop rooms. Overall capacity of our educational base reaches nearly 8 thousand seats. Research and education of the Wrocław University of Economics is supplemented by dedicated organizational units, such as the Main Library, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of Physical Education and Sports, the Computer Centre and the University Publishing House.
Sports facilities
The department offers regular courses of physical education as well as supplementary sports training, recreation, and rehabilitation for students and employees of the University. Our activities are organized with support from the University Club of the Academic Sports Association.
At present, we offer courses and training on 20 sports disciplines, such as: aerobics, badminton, basketball, volleyball, handball, football, swimming, athletics, table tennis, unihockey, rock climbing, ballroom dance, tennis, biking (tourist), triathlon, horse riding, track and field, skiing, snowboard, and skating.
Student clubs
Our University is a place of varied activities aimed at maintaining friendly and open attitude. The students can expand their range of interests and broaden their knowledge through active participation in student organizations and student scientific societies. They prepare cultural venues, thematic competitions, in-house training sessions, and actions promoting local enterprises.
